Code of Ethics
Members are professional and courteous at all times. Not only do you represent the TOY SCHNAUZER CLUB OF AMERICA, but all dog lovers.
We establish a reputation of trust and honor among fellow club members and all interested parties.
The TOY SCHNAUZER CLUB OF AMERICA members work to the betterment of this breed and this club, and encourage others to do the same.
We are graceful and honest when representing our dogs, whether for sale, breeding, or in competitions.
Breeding Member’s dogs that meet the Toy Schnauzer Standard. (They may also breed Mini Schnauzers too and they make it clear when a puppy may be on the line between toy or mini size.)
We maintain the best possible health and quality of life for our dogs.
We intentionally breed puppies to be free of serious congenital and hereditary defects. Our male and female breeding dogs have DNA profiles and have been screened for known hereditary diseases.
We keep up to date on the health and genetic issues of the breed.
We work to control and/or eradicate inherited problems and conditions that are particular to the Toy Schnauzer.
We encourage and promote responsible breeding practices.
We spay or neuter animals not desirable for breeding - this can be done with an agreement that pet home buyers will spay or neuter before 1 year old.
We never sell to wholesalers, retail dealers, or their agents.
Our members regard this Code of Ethics as a minimum standard of ethical behavior. TOY SCHNAUZER CLUB OF AMERICA LLC members accept no less in those that they are doing business with.
